Reduction of Losses - Analysis of Opportunity Costs from the Point of View of Total Productive Maintenance

Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and Change Over Reduction Engineering (CORE) are fundamental parts of the Just-in-Time production system and a way to increase productivity and quality. This contribution shows development and elements of Just-in-Time production system e.g. TPM, overall equipment effectiveness and CORE. Introduced are a range of industrial applications and some selected results of projects in Germany and a recently developed method of analysis of opportunity costs.
