Strategic Project Management for the Management of Technological Innovation
The presentation will address some important highlight areas of practical value and interest to the novice project manager who has important technology management interests and responsibilities but perhaps limited exposure to applied project management disciplines. Topics include:1. Introduction2. What is a project? 3. Examples of projects4. Project management processes and skills 5. Holding successful project management meetings 6. What is earned value? 7. Conclusion. The session will include a discussion of healthy projects and sick projects, highlighting factors and issues that can drive the difference. A primary objective is to provide people with some basic insights and practical tools for defining and managing their innovation project efforts. There will be a slide presentation on earned value principles that people can take away for ongoing reference and application in their specific work or research environments.
