Knowledge Dynamics and Organizational Learning of the Evolutionary and Revolutionary Process
It is well noted that knowledge management is a key issue for a firm to improve business performance in the swiftly changing marketplace. This paper tentatively examines the knowledge dynamics relating with a firms organizational learning (OL) modes through the evolutionary and revolution process of technological innovation, especially the unlearning modes through the revolutionary process of secondary innovation which is the typical innovation made on the base of acquired technologies for developing countries to catch the late-comers advantages. In the discussion, special attention is paid to the non-linear dynamics of knowledge capturing, accumulation and retention relating with discontinuity, chaos, and crises during the transition from one technological paradigm to the next, especially with a standing point of developing countries (LDCs).
