Mission of University and Innovation of Technology
Constructing Research University has become subject of many internal universities presently. Then, what and why do they research? The paper reviewed the importance of university research for innovation, policy environment for university patenting and technology transfer. Discussed objectives of university technology transfer as well as how to get good ideas out of the lab and into the field and why universities cannot do what companies do. Subsequently, the paper analyzed implementation and management strategies of college such as university deciding what technologies to move into the private sector; allocation of efforts by center of technology transfer; incentives to university researchers and vehicles of university technology and so on. Following these is national policy framework including intellectual property law; venture formation and bankruptcy law, public support of research and local policy implementations. Finally, several ideas be stated such as (1) Measuring and evaluating the results of university technology transfer; (2 ) Trends in university patenting; (3) Trends for start-ups based on university technologies; (4) Trends in university revenues from technology transfer; (5) Main impacts of technology transfer and lessons learned.
