Optimal Disturbance Rejection for Linear Systems with Delayed State and Control

The optimal disturbance rejection for linear systems with delayed state and control under external disturbances is considered. By using the model transformation, the system with delayed state and control is transformed into a system with delayed state. Based on the internal model principle, a disturbance compensator is designed to reject the influence of external disturbances. An augmented system is constructed with the transformed system and the compensator. The problem of optimal disturbance rejection is solved by designing an optimal control law for the augmented system without disturbance. By using the successive approximation approach, the optimal control law is obtained which is consisting of an analytical linear state feedback term and a compensation term that is the limit of the iterative vector sequence. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
