Actuator Fault Reconstruction in a Class of Uncertain Dynamic Systems with Mismatched Uncertainties

This paper considers the sliding mode observer based actuator fault reconstruction schemes for a class of uncertain dynamic system with mismatched uncertainties. To deal with a broader class of mismatched uncertainties, we propose the novel sliding mode observer, which LMI existence conditions and some verification are given by combined with LMI methods and are primarily designed for actuator fault reconstruction. The proposed design need not predigest the canonical process of the dynamic systems which the sliding mode observer designs are simplified. Simultaneously, applying the equivalence output error concept and the proposed observer, the fault information is obtained so that actuator faults are reconstructed by the designed sliding mode observer. The numerical simulation results are presented to validate the approach.
