Modeling of a circulating fluidized bed for flue gas desulfurization process
A steady state model is proposed to predict the SO2 removal efficiency in the circulating fluidized bed for flue gas desulfurization process. With some reasonable assumptions, the steady state mathematical equations were derived and solved. A detailed analysis was conducted to investigate the influence of recycled particles on desulfurization efficiency. In addition, the conversions of both fresh and recycled sorbent are taken into account in this model. The simulation results indicate that high calcium to sulfur molar ratio, low approach to the adiabatic saturation temperature and large solid recirculation ratio increase the desulfurization efficiency, which is confirmed with the obtained experiment results, and the prediction efficiency is verified against the available data in literature.
