The Comparison and the Analysis on University Bilingual Teaching Between Hong Kong and the Mainland of China
The study on the bilingual teaching theory and the practice in Hong Kong is much earlier than that of the mainland of China and there has been a practical teaching model in Hong Kong. It has positive effects for comparing bilingual teaching gap between the two places and taking reference to the successful experiences in Hong Kong. There are obvious gaps between Hong Kong and the Mainland in terms of language environment, students English knowledge, faculty force, teaching method, evaluation mechanism, etc. The mainland universities should adopt the strategies of language subdivision, improvement of teaching forces, international textbook revision or self-prepared teaching materials revised by foreign experts, establishment of mechanisms for evaluation and the creation of a suitable language environment.
