The Interaction Between Scientific Research and Teaching, A Case Study
The relation between teaching and scientific research is a defining feature of a modern university and of academic identity. In this study, using the department of Irrigation and Drainage, Wuhan University as the case, we addressed the scientific and educational activities related to irrigation and drainage and investigated the relationships between scientific research and teaching. The Effects of teaching on scientific research productivity was analyzed using survey data. Results showed that scientific research and teaching were interdependent and interacted. Teaching and scientific research was a dialectical unit.
