Design of Dominant Pole Region Assignment with PID Controllers
In this paper we study the PID controller design using the dominant pole region assignment. The dominant poles are located in the specified trapzoidal region and the other poles are located far away from the dominant poles. In addition, there are no zeros for the closed loop transfer function near the dominant pole region. By the root invariant method, we construct the set of PID controllers satisfying the dominant pole region assignment. At first, we fix the integrator coefficient and then we determine the proportional coefficients and the differential coefficients. By sweeping the integrator coefficients, we obtain a whole set of the PID coefficients satisfying the dominant pole region assignment. One experiment is included, where we show the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
