Measure and Control System Design of Wind Turbine Pitch Bearing Test-bed

This paper introduces in detail the measurement and controlling system of wind turbine pitch bearing test-bed from test principle, hardware construct and software design. This system includes the modules of bearing rotary motion control, axial and radial hydraulic cylinder load control, test data acquisition and analysis. Using IPC as the hardware platform, with data acquisition card, sensors, hydraulic control components, frequency converter and other implementing components, this measure and control system constitutes the speed and load closed-loop control system of wind turbine pitch bearing. Utilizing PID control algorithm, it can simulate the load of wind turbine pitch bearing, achieve bearing swing in the preset speed accurately. The test system can automatically collect, process and display the data that include axial load, radial load, flexural torque, friction torque, swing speed, libration and temperature.
