Simulation of Automotive Wheel Rigidity Test
This paper aims at seeking a practical method for simulating the rigidity test of automotive steel wheel. This test of automotive wheel is numerically analyzed by combined use of nonlinear finite element analysis and plastic mechanics approach. The wheel modeled as an elastic-plastic body is mounted at a horizontal brake basement by four bolts. During the numerical analysis, supporting areas, contacting pairs, coupling and load steps are used to describe actual tests. Compared with actual tests, the finite element results are good agreement with the test results.
