Study on the NS Model and Improved NS Model of Mixed Traffic Flow with Periodic Boundary Condition
One dimensional cellular automation traffic flow model is suitable for simulating the traffic flow of freeway and circle line of round-the-city traffic. The mixed traffic flow, which is composed of different types or performances motor vehicles, is the common phenomenon in road traffic. On the periodic boundary condition, motor vehicles mixed traffic flow of one-way and single lane is the target of research. Based on NS model, the one-dimensional cellular automation NS traffic flow model of different velocity mixed motor vehicles is presented. The relative motion among motor vehicles is considered in this model. The improved NS model presented in this paper is simulated. According to the results of simulation, the effect of deceleration probability, mixed coefficient and following vehicle behavior have on traffic flow is analyzed separately. The flow of improved NS model is larger than the flow of original NS model. And the driving speed of vehicles is increased. The usage rates of road are also improved.
