Study on typical bus fire simulation and control technology

The bus increases with the development of urbanization. The bus accidents gradually increase, which cause the great casualties and property losses. In order to study this problem, three kinds of typical bus fires were simulated. The temperature on z=1.0m can reach to 520℃ when the decorative materials exist on the bus roof, the doors and windows open. The passpengers will quickly die under this condition because of high temperature.When the decorative materials do not exist on the bus roof, the doors and widows are locked, the temperature on z=1.0m can reach to 150℃. When the decorative materials do not exist on bus roof, the doors and widows open, the temperature on z=1.0m can reach to 170℃. The passpengers will die because of high temperature and toxic gas under those conditions. The temperature on Z=1.0m is about 40℃ except for the area of fire source (temperature is about 61℃) when the bus is equiped with water mist extinguishing system, and the smoke concentration is far lower than the smoke concentration wihtout water mist extinguishing system.The passengers will not die within short time because of smoke dilution and temperature reduction when the bus is equiped with water mist extinguishing system. The results can provide an effective method to explore and control the bus fire.
