A Three-Axis Finger Force Sensor Using Single-layer and Disc-Shaped Sensitive Plate
In this paper, a three-axis finger force sensor with force-sensing part in the form of a thin disc-shaped alloy plate is presented. Different from the traditional and bulky sensitive element composed of plate-beam, cross-beam, and shaped bar, etc, the compacted disk-shaped sensitive elastomer can miniaturize the sensitive element to a great extent and the fabricated pint-sized force sensor has a wide forcesensing range. Thercfore, one feature of this novel sensitive element is that twelve pieces of strain gauges are concentrated on one bottom plane of a 22-mm-diamcter and 2.0ram thick diskshaped plate. The other is that its minimum measurement of strain is 0.2 and 1μm/m responding to 0.2N and the maximum measurement of strain is 500 μ m/m responding to 100N. The maximum interference error is 2.02%.
