Application of Blind Signal Processing Technique on Two-Phase Flowrate Measurement
Application of blind signal processing technique on gas-liquid two-phase flowrate measurement is presented in this paper. Because flowrate is related to the differential pressure (DP) signal which is adopted near the pipe wall when the fluid is flowing along the pipeline, one of flowrate measurement methods is to determine the DP signal corresponding to the single phase in two phases cocurrent flow. However, the DP signal corresponding to one phase is influnced by the other phase in two phases cocurrent flow while the interaction between the two phases is unkown. The main contribution of the blind signal processing technique adopted in this paper is to extract the single-phase DP signal from the mixed two-phase DP signals. Hence, independent component analysis (ICA) technique, one of important blind signal processing techniques, is used to implement the DP signal extraction and flowrate measurement combing with orifice flowrate measurement principle. The experimental results show that blind signal processing technique is available to gas-liquid two-phase flowrate measurement.
