Simulation and Analysis on Hydrostatic Pressure Sensor Using Fiber Bragg Grating
Fiber Bragg Grating has to be packaged to improve its pressure sensitivity, and to protect the fiber grating too. Simulation and analysis on polymer package,metal-tube package and side-hole package using ANSYS and MATLAB are studied. The results show that polymer package requires low Youngs modulus, low Poissons ratio to the material; metal-tube package shields radial pressure to reduce error, so to improve its sensitivity; side-hole package has the highest pressure sensitivity through designing non-symmetrical structure, which reduces the dependence on polymer parameter. It is found that the pressure sensitivity of side-hole package is the highest, followed by metaltube package, and polymer package last throng simulation and analysis under the same conditions.
