Tourism Sustainable Development Strategy in Weifang, China
Introduction: Weifang has abundant tourism resources, but they are scattered distributed in 8 counties and 4 regions. Although having convenient transportation, Weifang is only a transit port for tourism. The high quality tourism service facilities are not fully used and difference between peak season and off season of tourism is great. Income from tourist accounts for more than 6 percent of regional gross domestic production. Tourist have plays an important role in promoting economic development, earning foreign currency and providing jobs. After giving brief introduction and assessment on tourism resources in Weifang, this paper proposes some strategic measures for tourism sustainable development in the prefecture: Providing new tourism products supply, improving tourism infrastructure and integrating the tourism resources to establish the integrated superiority.
