On the Resources Features of Mountain-Based World Cultural Heritage in China

The formation and development of Mountain-based World Heritage Sites is not only restrained by geographical location and natural environment, but also five thousand years of Chinese civilization, which have significantly different characteristics compared with the foreign heritage sites of relic-type and construction-type and antique-type. Focusing on 8 moantain-based world cultural heritage sites, such as Mount Taishan, Mount Huangshan, Mount Wudang, Lushan National Park, Mount Wuyi, Mount Emei Scenic Area, Mount Qingcheng and Mount Wutai, this paper studies their common and individual feature of tourism resources in order to clarify the value of them and lay the foundation for the protection, development and utilization of world cultural heritage sites.
