The Researches on Developing the Sport, Leisure and Tourism Industry in the Central Plains of China
Henan Province, which boasts advantages in both natural environment and geographical location, is abundant in sport, leisure and tourism resources. Based on the analysis of the status and development environment of the sport, leisure and tourism industry in Henan, this paper investigates into the socio-economic value of developing the sport, leisure and tourism industry in Henan Province and proposes a series of measures in this regard. To begin with, researches concerning the overall planning of the comprehensive development of sport, leisure and tourism resources in Henan Province should be intensified. Second, collaboration is needed to promote the joint development of relevant industries. Third, highly qualified professional personnel as well as a number of travel agencies in the sport, leisure and tourism industry should be cultivated. Fourth, based on the realities of tourism resources of Henan Province, a series of selected tourism products, which are of competitiveness and distinction, should be fostered. Fifth, access to alternative sources of finance should be encouraged to maximize the channels of financing by absorbing both private and foreign capitals. All these proposals and development strategies broached above will provide the necessary theoretical guidance for the sustainable development of the sport, leisure and tourism industry in Henan Province.
