Identification of Medical Service Efficiency with Price Impact: A Case Study of Zhejiang Province

摘要：

An environmental converged model is established to identify medical service efficiency changes with medical price index. Empirical results illustrate that medical service efficiency are raised with medical price index from both endogenous inputs and exogenous technical production. Furthermore, on the one hand, the endogenous medical service efficiency is majorly driven by the total number of outpatients rather than the capital expenditure of outpatients in the sense that the production elasticity of medical service inputs is greater than the one of capital inputs. On the other hand, the exogenous medical service efficiency is majoriy attributed to technical level rather than efficiency level.These identification results present valid evidences for price increase of medical service and verify the conductive mode of medical service efficiency via price increase.
