An Application of Intelligent Data Analysis Based on Rough-Set Theory
For a textbook in Chinese university, the theoretical level, usability and readability of the textbook are three main aspects, which can reflect the overall quality of the textbook in some aspects. However, how to investigate some relations between the overall quality of the textbook and the theoretical level (resp. usability, readability) of the textbook by using intelligent data analysis? More precisely, how to extract and analyze useful information hidden in data by some logicmathematical methods?This question is worth to be considered.In this paper, we investigate the textbook 《College Military Training》and establish an information system for this investigation. In this information system, the overall quality of the textbook is taken as a decision attribute and the theoretical level, usability, readability of the textbook are taken as condition attributes. Based on rough set theory, we give the importance of each condition attribute with respect to decision attribute and the strength of each condition attribute supporting decision attribute. Results of this investigation provide valuable information for future drafting and editing a good textbook for Chinese university students.
