Analysis of Pulsed Magnetic Flux Leakage Signal Based on Wavelet Denoising

Pulsed magnetic flux leakage (PMFL) has become research focus, for its more deep penetration to detect surface and subsurface flaws. As the peak value and the Inflexion points arrival time of the detection signal reveal the structure of tested material, signsl processing of detection signal become a one of the most crucial step of the procedures. The paper seeks to present an effective method to surpass the noise and reconstruct the receiving signal but retain the detail information as much as possible. Wavelet theory and common methods with different thresholds for denoising are presented. The result have illustrated the wavelet denoising approach has better performance in reconstruction of original signal.
