Fast Active Calibration for Uniform Linear Array with Amplitude and Phase Errors

This paper presents a new active calibration algorithm to calibrate uniform linear array with amplitude and phase errors by placing an auxiliary signal known with energy and azimuth in the far-field. This algorithm only needs some easy disposal of the signal covariance matrix to estimate the amplitude-phase errors without matrix eigendecomposition as the traditional activecalibration algorithm does. Its greatly reduces the computation. When the array is calibrated, the paper apply onedimension noise subspace algorithm to estimate the signal DOA. This algorithm can be applied to electronic countermeasure. Simulation results show that the algorithm can effectively estimate the array amplitude-phase errors, and it is robust.
