Study of Group Stewardship

摘要：

Some have written about individual stewardship, no work appears to have been published regarding group stewardship, a collectively held sense of responsibility to oversee and improve performance in the groups area of responsibility in accordance with the best interests of the organization. In this paper the construct of group stewardship will be developed. First, the need for a group stewardship construct will be presented. Next, roots of the stewardship concept in the literature will be reviewed. The concept of stewardship will be further defined by contrasting it with agency theory. The fourth subsection defines and distinguishes group stewardship from related constructs.
