The Impact of Team Empowerment and Team Competence on Team Performance

The research of empowerrnent and competence mostly focus on the individual level, and in this paper we test them in team level. Data from 30 branches of an economic chained hotel from China evidenced that team empowerment influenced team competence positively, and in turn influenced team performance positively. While team control played an moderating role between team empowerment and team competency. Theoretical and practical implications were discussed in the end.
