An Empirical Analysis of the Current Rural Human Capital in Shandong Province
The human capital is the key factor of economic growth. Due to the influence of factors such as the urban-rural dual structure, insufficient longterm investment on rural human capital leads to the less rural human capital stock. Under the background of the construction of the new socialist countryside, in order to learn the present situation of rural human capital, we launched a random questionnaire survey to some famers in twelve counties including Yantai, Jimo, Shouguang, Changyi, Laiwu and Mengyin etc. from February to August, 2008. On the base of the survey and analysis, increasing rural human capital investment, propelling urban-rural public service equalization, building long-term mechanism of accumulation of rural human capital and improving rural human capital stock are suggested.
