Employee Creativity in China: An Application of Supervisors Interactional Justice Climate Theory

Using a supervisor-subordinate dyads data from 84 work teams including 84 supervisors and 408 team members in China, we examined the effect of supervisors interactional justice climate on employee creativity. Meanwhile, we also investigated the psychological mechanism of how supervisors interactional justice climate affects creativity. Using hierarchical linear modeling (HLM), we found that: (1) Interactional justice climate was significantly, positively related to employee creativity; (2) Interactional justice climate was significantly, positively related to psychological empowerment; (3) Psychological empowerment partially mediated the relationship between interactional justice climate and employee creativity.
