A Study on Psychological Resources in Chinese University Students
The present study was to investigate Chinese college students general self-efficacy, coping styles and subjective well-being (SWB) and the relations in these three variables. 308 undergraduate students completed General Self-Efficacy Scale, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Index of Well-Being, Index of General Affect. Results revealed that there were no significant gender differences in these three variables in Chinese college students. General self-efficacy was significantly correlated with active coping and SWB. Active coping had significant positive correlation with SWB, while passive coping had significant negative correlation with SWB. It was concluded that general self-efficacy and coping styles were predictors of SWB. The implications for college counselors are discussed.
