Application of Data Mining in Electronic Human Resource Management

This paper examines the relationship between Human Resource (HR) and Information Technology (IT) and their convergence in creating and sustaining competitive advantages. The paper addresses the major aspects of the HR function and how IT can be integrated in creating value for the organization. Especially, discusses the potential use of data mining and knowledge discovery in databases (KDD) for HR. It seems that those innovative HR technologies play a strategic and operational role in adding value to the HR departments performance. The results show that when some HR technology functionalities are absent or poorly implemented, there are noticeable consequences for the HR department.
