Study on Early Warning Mechanism on Water Inrush Hazards in Construction of High Risk Subsea Tunnel

It has more high risk than other tunnels in subsea tunnel construction for its specificity and complexity of geological conditions, and geophysical prospecting uncertainty of interpretation results impacted by overlying water body. In particular, in bad rock district, the geological hazards such as water inrush is one of the largest construction risks, which can easily lead to huge disaster and economic loss. The fourcolor(red, orange, yellow and green) early warning mechanism of water inrush hazards in tunnel construction is stated in the paper based on prediction of high risk subsea tunnel depending on Qingdao Jiaozhou bay subsea tunnel project, then contingency plans are formulated according to subsea tunnel four-color early warning mechanism. And corresponding project preventive measures are also made according to different early warning ranks. Early warning mechanism and methods stated above have some guiding significance to similar projects.
