Study on numerical simulation and experiment of titanium alloy for high speed milling

Aim at the difficulty of cutting for titanium alloy, the 3D finite element model has been established The high speed cutting has been simulated using the established model. The chip formation and the cutting force have been analyzed. In the same condition, the cutting experiment has been carried ou. Through the comparison, the result of simulation agrees with the result of experiment well. It proves that the finite element model is correct, and the finite model can be used to investigate the optimization of cutting parameters.
