The Design of Monitor Based on ARM for Remote PLCs
In this paper, a new design is brought forward according to the requirement of monitoring for the remote PLCs. The system based on DCS uses monitoring equipment to collect information of PLCs by UARTs, and then the data is sent to a DCS terminal to be processed and stored in SQL Database. The microprocessor control unit(MCU) of monitor is based on LPC1758, which is ARM Cortex-M3 based microcontroller. The hardware configuration of monitor, software design and communication method are introduced. The monitoring program of the DCS terminal is also described. The monitor for remote PLCs has the characteristics of simple equipment, low cost and accuracy. It has great value in use for process control.
