Highway traffic accidents and intervening traffic-flow wave model with dynamic space occupancy
Traffic accidents can occupy the lanes, reduce the areas of lanes. The reducing areas of lanes can reduce the areas which are occupied by vehicles. We will introduce dynamic space occupancy to perform these changes. Making dynamic space occupancy in highway traffic accidents and intervention traffic flow wave model based on the theory of hydrodynamic traffic flow wave, can improve the models. Therefore, the predictions for traffic accident can be more closely to the actual situations. Through the analysis of the interaction among intervention shock-wave, queuing wave, starting wave, dissipation wave, traffic-flow wave position and corresponding time model , intervention measures rescission time model, we can estimate the queue furthest upstream position, time of origin, the special critical points position and time of shock-waves that results from the incident. These are effective and efficient measures of the accidents. These measures can lighten or eliminate the squeeze, traffic jams and the queue efficiently.
