The Power Law of Social and Economic Indexes Based on Languages on the Web
From the point of view of language, this paper studies the distributions and correlation of the social and economic indexes on the Web. Based on the computation of statistic model, it is found that these indexes, which are classified by languages of the netizens and web pages, approximately obey the power law on different scales. This paper points out that languages have been the natural boundaries between social and economic activities on the Web, hence, web language communities and web language markets have been shaped. Their development status and size are greatly restricted by the economic level of the corresponding society. Meanwhile, this paper lists several topscaled web language markets and finds that these markets are in accordance with the power law as well.
