Survey on energy consumption of residential buildings in Vietnam Part 1 The analysis using the results of questionnaire survey in 2006 by Vietnam Institute of Vietnam
In this study, we analysis the results of questionnaire survey in 2007 by JICA (Japan International Cooperation Agency), together with Vietnam Institute of Energy, to clarify the current situation of energy consumption and living standards of inhabitant in Vietnam. Due to the various of climate zone of Vietnam, the questionnaire investigation was taken in four cities. This is Hanoi and Bac Ninh, which belong to the warm-dry winter zone in Northern Vietnam;Da Nang city, which belong to the savannah zone in the Middle of Vietnam;and Ho Chi Minh city, which belong to the tropical monsoon Zone in Southern Vietnam in order to clarify energy consumption of Vietnam households and seek the solution for reducing the energy consumption. Through the above methods, information regarding the average monthly usage of electricity, gas and kerosene, family structure, usage frequency and capacity of equipment were obtained. The main results were following: 1) The energy consumptions vary widely by types of housing ahd number of household. 2) The saturation level of household appliances, especially electric fan, refrigerator, television is high. The saturation level of air conditioners in the rural areas is very low, nearly zero. 3) Household energy consumption is expected to increase together with economic growth and rising per capita income.
