An Investigation on Energy Consumption of Office Buildings and Hotel Buildings in Tohoku Region
Since 1995, we have investigated characteristics of energy consumption of non residence buildings in Tohoku Region (north-east area of Japan). Our aim is to clarify characteristics of air conditioning energy consumption of office buildings and hotel buildings in Tohoku Region. We investigated by a questionnaire method. Contents of the investigation were composed by Outline of buildings and Energy consumption results. The questionnaire items of Outline of buildings are chiefly about floor space and completion year and business hours. The questionnaire items of Energy consumption results are chiefly about electricity and gas and oil. And, we collected the answer documents from 229 office buildings and 85 hotel buildings in 6 prefectures. At first, we calculated the energy consumption rate of office buildings and hotel buildings. The energy consumption rate of big buildings was larger than that of small buildings. There was a strong correlation between energy consumption and the floor space in both office buildings and hotel buildings. Secondly, we calculated and analyzed the air conditioning energy consumption rate in each prefecture in Tohoku Region. Energy consumption rates for air conditioning varied significantly by region. Heating energy consumption rate is larger than cooling energy consumption rate in Tohoku Region.
