Experimental Study on Saving Cement of Manufactured-Sand Concrete
A series of comparative trial about manufactured-sand concrete and natural sand concrete were conducted, in manufactured sand stone powder accounted for 11.6 percent. Based on the results of test, the amount of saving cement for manufactured-sand concrete relative to natural sand concrete was analyzed. In the first place, some performance tests of sand and some tests on high-performance concrete among C30~C60 were performed, which tests were about some performance tests of concrete such as workability, mixture proportion, and the compressive strength, etc. The test results showed that the compressive strength of manufactured-sand concrete was higher than that of natural sand concrete. Meanwhile, manufactured-sand concrete used less cement than that of natural sand concrete when they arrived at the same strength. This paper also gave a quantitive analysis of the amount of saving cement for manufactured-sand concrete by contrast with natural sand concrete with same grade cement. According to the test results, we drew a conclusion that with the design strength of concrete increasing, the amount of saving cement decreased for manufacturedsand concrete comparing with the natural sand concrete.
