Study on Development for Reusable Wall Structure of Japanese Cedar~The Recent Trend of Structural Methods of Japanese Wooden Houses and Proposal of Curved Surface Shape~
Freedom of planning of wooden houses became enabled if authorized architects or builders perform structural calculation such as permissible loading calculation by the amendment of the building standards act in 2000. As the result many kinds of wooden houses except traditional construction method of wooden houses have been built recently. So we conducted the research to grasp the recent tendency of wooden houses in Japan except traditional construction method by picking out the from main Japanese architecture magazine such as SHINKENCHIKU and summarize the trend of recently methods for wooden houses in Japan. Based on that research, in this paper we are aimed to develop a new construction method which makes Japanese cedar lumber from thinning possible to be used as structural materials. We consider the proposition that we should use Japanese cedar as much as possible because it sustains carbon dioxide in long time. So our proposal is a kind of wall structure in which walls, floors and roofs are all made up of cedar lumbers. Here we introduce the construction method to create curved surface wall structure in contrast to the general wall structures shape such as cube or arch.
