Numerical Study of Classrooms Using Hybrid Ventilation with Fresh Air Cooled by a Tunnel

Based on the analysis of the indoor environment of classrooms in winter and summer, a hybrid ventilation system suitable for classrooms was designed. The ventilation system tried to intake fresh air cooled through a underground tunnel and exhaust it by natural ventilation. Simulation studies on the indoor temperature distribution, velocity distribution, PMV value and CO2 content and distribution in working area of the classroom were carried out. Qualitative analysis and quantitative comparison showed that the hybrid ventilation system which lead fresh air in from the bottom part and naturally discharge it at the upper part was an economical way for classrooms ventilation, and both temperature and air quality met the standard requirement of the classroom.
