Detailed Analysis of Electricity Consumption Pattern in University Laboratory
In recent years, the issue of the global environment has been worsened by an increase in greenhouse gases, making it necessary for universities to adopt energy conservation measures in accordance to many other buildings. The usage of devices, which can be turned on and off with a flick of a switch, is an important element in determining the quantity of energy consumed. This element is as important as building coatings, equipment efficiency, and climate conditions. In this research, a system is used at a university, which allows for the measurement of electricity consumption volume by floor units, with the objective of discerning energy consumption characteristics and change factors by observing usage records. As a result, as faculty rooms and research rooms exhibited high base electricity consumption, to examine devices where consumption reductions can be made is an effective, specific energy conservation strategy. Furthermore, because electricity consumption is controlled by usage times in drafting rooms, formulating usage rules for these rooms is another effective, specific energy conservation strategy.
