Establishment of Energy Map Based on GIS Technology in Kitakyushu
Japan has enacted environmental model-city law to promote the transformation towards the low carbon society precedent in the world in 2008. Kitakyushu city is qualified as one of large model cities in July 2008.First of all, Kitakyushu city sets a series of basic policies: being an industrial city, meeting the need of a low birth-rate and an aging population, low carbon society. Based on them, it combines industry, school, government, and residential environment together with the aim of establishing a stock-society. One feasible method is to develop and expand the applications of renewable energy, such as wind, solar heat, et.al, and non-renewable energy, such as factory exhaust heat. It is because that until now, waste power generation, factory exhaust heat and wind generation are not efficiently utilized yet in Kitakyushu;additionally, energy utilization has already become an important way to realize the balance between supply and demand. This research employs GIS technology to create energy maps after accurate distributions of heat supply and demand are investigated. This corresponding method provides a research tool for other city case.
