Environmental Monitoring of PBDEs in Industrial Area of Republic of KOREA
In this study, we focused on the monitoring at two industrial zones in Sihwa-Ansan and Ulsan-Onsan regions. The number of site which was investigated is 15 sites for water, 11 sites for sediment and 12 sites for soil. The analyzed target PBDEs are 8 congeners from tri-BDE to Deca-BDE and those were analyzed by using HRGC/HRMS. The goal of this study is to measure the contamination levels of PBDEs in various environmental media, such as water, sediment, and soil. The results showed that Deca-BDE is a major congener in all media. Concentration levels of total PBDEs in water, sediment and soil were 0.35~11.28 ng/L, 1.4~204.9 ug/kg, 0.6~185.7 μg/kg, respectively. However, no clear trend was observed in the concentration ranges of each medium between 2 regions.
