Catalytic hydrotreatment of chlorinated benzenes in liquid systems under mild conditions over Pd/C and Raney Ni
Chlorinated benzenes are very important and versatile compounds with many applications as industrial materials, solvents, reagents and intermediates in synthetic organic chemistry. They are the precursors of dioxins, and also show acute toxicity and difficult biodegradation in the environments. Therefore, in order to control these contaminations, we must destroy and eliminate them from the source of these chlorinated organic pollutants. Catalytic hydrotreatment is now emerging as an alternative, economically viable process for more efficient, ecological treatments of chlorinated organic wastes.
