CLONING, AND EXPRESSION OF CYTOCHROME P450 1A, 1B AND 1C GENES IN LIVER, BRAIN, GILL, AND KIDNEY FROM PCB 126-EXPOSED THREE-SPINED STICKLEBACK (GASTEROSTEUS ACULEATUS L.)
Introduction The three-spined stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus L.) is present in various aquatic ecosystems, such as streams, rivers, estuaries and coastal areas, in Europe and in northern parts of Asia and America. Because it is indigenous to a large part of the world it has become a popular model species in environmental research. It is particularly useful for monitoring of pollutants with androgenic and estrogenic responses. There is, however, a lack of information on the effects of dioxin and dioxin-like compounds in this species.
