The Impact of Guanxi on SMEsEntrepreneurship
Although for a long time，Chinese Guanxi has long been traditionally recognised as playing an important role in SMEs,little is know about the application and practices of Guanxi by modern entrepreneurs.The objective of this exploratory study is to enquire about the role and nature of Guanxi in modern Chinese entrepreneurship.In contrast to the traditional view of about the structural role of relationships that provides the conventional framework for Guanxi，we found that modern entrepreneurial Guanxi is predominantly established through friendship bonds.Moreove,it appears to be maintained more by social obligations of reciprocity than by material transaction.Indeed.where entertainment or gifts were exchanged, these seemed to be the iconic representations of the friendship ties.
