Development and Experimental Study of A Cycle-based Closed-loop Combustion Control System
A cycle-based closed-loop combustion control system is developed. This closed-loop system comprises sampling cylinder pressure, finding out combustion characteristic parameter and updating control variable. Firstly, pressure during compression stroke and expansion stroke is sampled; secondly, pressure is processed to get combustion characteristic parameter as feedback signal; thirdly, the error is fed into an incremental PID controller, and finally actuator is updated according to the output of PID controller so that the combustion of the next cycle could be controlled. After careful comparison of three parameters, φpmax, φλmax and CA50, CA50 is chosen to be the feedback parameter. The experimental results reveal that using CO2 injection system as actuator can control the combustion phase (CA50). The closed-loop system can well follow CA50 step input and has a capability to restrain system disturbances such as speed and load.
