Effect of activated zinc oxide on the property of sole rubber

The application of activated zinc oxide compared with ordinary zinc oxide in sole rubber was investigated. The experiment showed that activated zinc oxide could improve the microstructure and cross-linking degree of crosslinked rubber, the tensile strength at 100% elongation and at 300% elongation. The ageing resistance increased by 12%. With the amount of activated zinc oxide increased, the modulus at 100% elongation, the modulus at 300% elongation and shore hardness assumed increased, but the elongation at break, tear strength, the ageing resistance presented dropped.
