Public Participation Interface of Urban Disaster Prevention Spatial System Planning Application of Google Earth
TELES (Taiwan Earthquake Loss Estimate System) is developed for simulating earthquake damages under different scenario conditions. The results include PGA, architecture damages estimate and casualties. This system is used for risk potential evaluation, disaster prevention plan and contingent plan. However the hazard map offers comprehensive disaster prevention information and is often difficult to maintain and broadcast to public. This study selects Google Earth as a GIS tool for public participation and efficient maintenance. Finally a case study, Shin-hua Township Taiwan, shows the integration results for the purpose of dynamic maintenance of disaster information in a digital map.
