Long-term Change of Visible Light Absorption Property of Microwave-H2-plasma Processed TiO2

A slightly reduced TiO2 photocatalyst (TiO2 at a surface to TiO1.9 at a bottom) 1-3 have been proposed as a visible light responsible TiO2 photo catalyst. However, it is worried that the slightly reduced TiO2 would return to TiO2 by uniting with O2 in air. The long-term observation of available light absorption of the TiO2 shows that in all visible light responsible TiO2s with different processing conditions (processing time and input power) a slight deterioration in a visible light absorption property after 16 months is observed, although the deterioration depends on the processing time and microwave input power and tends to stop with time. It suggests that the microwave-H2-plasma processed TiO2 (the slightly reduced TiO2) is relatively stable for visible light absorption.
